Ramadan 2027: booking a hotel for the last 10 nights

The last ten nights of Ramadan are the busiest time of the year in Makkah and Madinah. Hotels apply special rules then. Here is what you need to know to book with peace of mind.
The dates
For Ramadan 2027, hotels sell the last ten nights from 27 February to 9 March 2027. The exact dates of Ramadan depend on the sighting of the moon: hotels set their period in advance.
The stay is booked as a whole
During these ten nights, hotels in Makkah and Madinah do not sell individual nights: they only offer the full stay, which cannot be shortened. A request for three or four nights cannot go through.
Cannot be changed or refunded
Rooms for this period are paid to the hotels in advance and cannot be resold. Bookings therefore cannot be changed or refunded. Book once your travel dates are settled.
Book early
Rooms close to the Haram go months in advance, and prices rise as the date approaches. Meals (suhoor and iftar) are included or optional depending on the hotel: check before choosing.
